-INSIGNIA LED TV SECTION BELOW:
The Insiginia IS-LCDTV32 has decided to quit working. It will intermitently not turn on, sometimes days at time. I have request service from Best Buy (as Insignia is a BestBuy Company). I have been waiting over 30 days for repair, and parts are on back-order for 28 more days. Be advised the BestBuy Warranty means nothing in regard to Customer Care or Speed. This warning may also apply to the following Insignia Products: NS-42PDP, INP4219, INC4218, NS-32LCD, and NS-27LCD.
Verdict: Do not buy Insignia products.
There is a well known problem with the power supply where 3 capacitors fail. I fixed this on mine for about $15 (including lots of spare Caps).

[VARICOSE VEIN REMOVAL]
Sclerotherapy is a common treatment for varicose veins in which a doctor injects small and medium affected veins with a solution that scars and closes the veins, forcing the body to redirect the circulating blood to healthy veins. After a few weeks the appearance of those affected veins should fade. Veins may need to be reinjected, but the outpatient procedure is fairly simple.
Gone untreated, varicose veins can develop into serious abnormalities and circulation problems. Enlarged veins can cause your legs to swell also, and sudden leg swelling can be indicative of a blood clot, known as thrombophlebitis, which requires immedate attention.
• After the injection of sclerosant is given, pressure is applied over the veins to prevent blood return when you stand up. You may need to wear compression stockings or elastic bandages for several days or weeks to maintain the pressure.
The sclerotherapy injection may be painful, and the chemical (sclerosant) that is injected can cause a feeling of burning for a few minutes. You may need repeated sessions, depending on the extent of the varicose veins and type of sclerosant used.
A newer technique allows your doctor to inject sclerosant with a catheter. The catheter is guided to the affected vein with the help of ultrasound. This allows sclerotherapy to be used on larger veins that previously could only be treated surgically, in which larger varicose veins are tied off and removed. Sclerotherapy is probably more effective using this duplex ultrasound?guided catheter injection, because it allows precise access to veins.
RISKS:
The risks of sclerotherapy include:
• Skin color changes along the treated vein. This is the most common side effect of sclerotherapy. The discoloration may take 6 to 12 months to disappear. In some people, it may be permanent.
• Failure of treatment to prevent varicose veins from returning.
• Itching, bruising, pain, and blistering where the veins were treated.
• Scarring resulting from ulcers or death of the tissue around the treated vein (skin or fat necrosis) if sclerosant is injected outside a vein or sclerosant escapes through the wall of a weakened vein.
• A mild or severe (anaphylactic) reaction to the sclerosant. (Severe reaction is very rare but can be life-threatening.)
• Blood clots or damage in the deep vein system.
http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/sclerotherapy-for-varicose-veins
• Compression stockings are a common first approach to treating varicose veins. They improve circulation by squeezing your legs throughout the day.

PACKARD BELL
MODEL: 8040
ID# 845550100
Serial: P381021635+
From http://support.packardbell.com/global/item/index.php?i=topic_00728&pi=platform_legacy_PB
Q: "My Packard Bell Pentium computer with an ESS ES1869 sound device does not have sound in Windows 98. The sound configuration does not show any conflict, and the speakers and the AC adapter work too. Is there any sound setting I have overlooked? "
POSSIBLE SOLUTION: This situation applies only to the MediaTrainer motherboard, also referred to as the PB850 motherboard, which has the ESS ES1869 sound device integrated on the motherboard itself. TO IDENTIFY the ESS ES1869 sound device, perform the following steps:
- In Windows 98 click the Start button, select Settings and click Control Panel.
- Double-click the System icon and then "Hardware" tab, then: click the Device Manager tab.
- Click the plus sign (+) in front of the line Sound, video and game controllers.
- These two options should be installed there: ES1869 Control Interface and ES1869 Plug and Play AudioDrive.
- Close the Device Manager.
• SOLUTION (what actually worked):
"A more radical solution would be to delete the ESS ES1869 sound drivers from the Device Manager":
- Click the Start button, select Settings and click Control Panel.
- Double-click the System icon and then click the Device Manager tab.
- Click the plus sign (+) in front of the line Sound, video and game controllers.
- Click once the option ES1869 Control Interface, click the Remove button and accept the operation.
- Do the same for the option ES1869 Plug and Play AudioDrive.
- Close the Device Manager.
- Restart the computer. Windows 98 will detect the sound device automatically, install the software for it and configure the Volume Control settings correctly.

I decided to pick up a DVI to VGA adapter. I hook it up, the monitor has this really blurry looking resolution (1600 x 1200) (DVI to VGA adapter). Am I just stuck with one great one and one not so great one?

HARDWARE MODEM
"Hardware" modems are "supposed" to do all the processing in their own circuit, and not rely on CPU/Motheboard processing. Since my PC seems allergic to all modems, this may be the way to go. These are EXTERNAL Modems, not cards, and bigger than standard USB modems (although I'll need one with a USB connection)
UPDATE: there don't seem to be ANY Hareware Modems. A US Robotics unit requires Driver Downloads (doesn't come with aan Installation CD) and has a lot of other complaints. (Apparently they were good in the '90's but now make crap). The other brands just look like standard USB Modems.

[Catalytic HEATERS}
Products like Mr. Heater that are not indoor rated can be extremely dangerous. Heater Buddy however is catalytic and indoor rated. Catalytic heaters use a principle of heating up metal and re burning the exhaust gas from the initial burn. This changes CO to CO2 or the bad stuff to the not bad stuff.
If you read the Heater Buddy literature, it has ventilation requirements. It's 3 sq/in on low and 6 sq/in on high for replenishing oxygen which is used in burning. I recommend a cross ventilation.
I bought one of the first Coleman Catalytic heaters. Their models do not have a low 02 shutoff nor does it have a pilot light for easy on and off. The first time I used it with a battery operated CO monitor in the tent. We ran it all night and the CO monitor never went off, however I was a tad alarmed the next morning while still down low in the tent, I couldn't get a lighter to light. There simply wasn't enough 02. Dangerous.
The only concern I have about the Heater Buddy is the pilot flame is not catalytic. Still I have used the Heater Buddy without the CO monitor going off. I have been hesitant to it in a car which has no ventilation with the windows closed and no way to up/down cross ventilate due to the pilot.
In a vehicle, I use the Coleman Survival Cat which is made just for that application. Its a very small version of the original Coleman Catalytic heater. It only puts out about three candles worth of heat but that's actually plenty in a vehicle. I put this unit in a car, closed the windows, and the CO monitor did not go off. In all I like the Heater Buddy so much I have two of them.

Chart from: http://www.natural-lifestyle-made-easy.com/sprouts.html
• many sprouts are TOXIC when eaten, like kidney beans & some other legumes, buckwheat. Seeds release toxins while sprouting to keep animals from eating them, hence the importance of long soaking and rinsing.
EDIBLE SPROUT SEEDS: Alfafa, Broccoli, Mustard, Clover, Onion, Lentil, Mung Bean, Wheat, Radish, Soybean
Nutrients of each type of sprout - www.isga-sprouts.org/nutritio.htm
BASIC SPROUTING: a simple glass jar with a piece of cloth secured over its rim. Any vessel used for sprouting must allow water to drain from it, because sprouts that sit in water will rot quickly. Seeds swell and begin germinating in a day or two.
Take your clean/sterile one quart jar. Cover the bottom with 1/4 cup of seeds.
Soak the seeds for 8 - 12 hours with a 2 to 1 ratio of water to seeds. This softens the outer coat of the seeds to allow sprouting. Top with cheese cloth and fasten with a rubber band or an opened screw-top lid.
After the 8 - 12 hours, rinse and drain the seeds completely, then place the jar sideways, at an angle with the seeds spread evenly along one side. Place jar on an angle to provide drainage and good air circulation.
Keep jar in a dark place, at room temperature, about 68 to 70 degrees F. Sprouts grown in light will turn bitter and tough. I sometimes cover my jar with a paper bag to ensure complete darkness. Remember that we are trying to simulate the growing conditions of sprouts, which usually takes place underground.
Rinse sprouts twice a day to prevent them from souring. Each seed has its own sprouting time. In three to five days they will have grown two or three inches and will be suitable for consumption. If left longer they will develop leaves, and are then known as baby greens. A popular baby green is sunflower after 7-10 days.
Once they reach the desired size, rinse them again, then pat dry completely for storage. Make sure you store them dry because these nutrition-dense living foods tend to spoil quickly. Properly stored sprouts can stay good for 1-2 weeks or more.
INEDIBLE SPROUTS are caused when:
Seeds are allowed to dry out -
Seeds are left in standing water -
Temperature is high or too low -
Insufficient rinsing -
Dirty equipment -
Insufficient air flow
Growing in full sunlight is not recommended, because it can cause the beans to overheat or dry out. Subjecting the sprouts to pressure, for example, by placing a weight on top of them in their sprouting container, will result in larger, crunchier sprouts.
"There is no difference between ''sprouting seeds'' and regular seeds for growing a plant. Seeds that are sold sprouting need to have a higher germination rate. But I have found that there is not much difference as long as the seeds are fresh. "
• Because they are "New" growth, they have more nutrients. Active ENZYMES also, if eaten uncooked. Broccoli and other types of sprouts contain high levels of a natural cancer fighting compound called sulforaphane 20 ? 50 times more than in mature broccoli.
• Soybean sprouts rival meat in nutrition, mature in 3 to 5 days, require neither soil nor sunshine, rival tomatoes in Vitamin C.
• make sure you don?t mistake the fine white hairs on some sprouts for mold.
• Seeds can be purchased at a health food store or at some groceries.
• Store in the vegetable crisper of the refrigerator and use sprouts as soon as possible. Rinsing daily under cold water can extend their life.
---
• During Y2K many people will have bad health from eating nothing but cannned food! If you value your health, buy sprouting seeds. A handfull of sprouts a day keep the doctors away!!! You MUST keep your health a #1 priority during Y2K!!!

[HARD DRIVES - Compatability, etc.]
• ABOUT HARD DRIVES EXCEEDING 137GB: 48-bit addressing is required to exceed the 137GB capacity limitation imposed by 28-bit addressing.
Older computer motherboards have 28-bit IDE controllers and are limited to drives with a maximum capacity of 137GB. For drives larger than 137GB, many HDD manufacturers were providing a Promise 48-bit PCI controller card with each drive.

FROM SEAGATE: "System Type
A home PC will normally use an ATA (IDE) interface hard drive, either a standard ATA drive or an Ultra ATA (Ultra DMA) hard drive. The standard ATA and the Ultra ATA interfaces each use ribbon cables (approximately 50 mm wide) with 40-pin connectors, and have a separate power supply connector. Current models are normally one inch in height or less, and fit into a standard 3.5-inch drive bay, which actually measures 4 inches wide."
• Ultra ATA models can be Ultra ATA/33, /66, or /100, and in some cases, Ultra ATA/133. These drives are all downward compatible with previous ATA interfaces and each will work in these slower modes.
SATA vs IDE
SATA BECAME THE STANDARD IN 2003. SATA is NOT compatible with older computers, and require a bridge adapter and/or other equipment & software to make them useable. Seagate page on this.

[DUAL HARD DRIVES]

COMMENTS ON HARD DRIVES vis-a-vis DUAL DRIVES:
From:
www.hardwaves.com/display/2001124/20011249229_0.html
•The two major interface types are SCSI (Small Computer Systems Interface) and IDE/ATA
(Integrated Drive Electronics)/(AT Attachment). IDE/ATA is by far the most popular in today's
market, and is the default standard for desktop computers of all types and brands. The main
reason behind this is that the cost of IDE/ATA drives is cheaper than comparable SCSI solutions.
•For IDE drives, you'll have to adjust the jumper on the back of the drive - where the IDE
and power connectors are. IDE drives are usually set for either MASTER or SLAVE, and which one
you opt for depends on your system. Most systems are limited to a total of 4 IDE devices, with
two per channel (although some mainboards can support up to 8 devices via 4 channels). So, when
your computer boot's up it will look first on the primary channel (searching for a primary master
and primary slave), and then perform the same activity on the secondary channel. If you have your
BIOS configured to auto-detect your devices on startup, you may have seen this sequence. After
watching your machine scan the devices, you should notice which (if any) positions are open. To
set the BIOS to auto-detect your drives, you generally have to configure each of the positions
for AUTO from within the BIOS itself, generally under the CMOS features section.
Now that you've found a free position, you simply have to setup the drive to be placed in that
area. Setting the drive for MASTER or SLAVE is done by changing around the jumper area on the
back of the drive. The manufacturers generally list which jumper settings need to be used for
which setting on the physical drive - as well as in the manual that came with the drive.
After the jumper has been configured, install the drive into the machine, taking care to screw it
down with at least 2 screws (4 is the most solid, however). Now you'll have to plug in an IDE
cable to the drive. Choosing which isn't that hard, simply look at where they connect to the
mainboard connectors. One should be labeled IDE1 (primary) and the other IDE2 (secondary), and
you'll want to opt for the one that was shown to have a free position from the previous steps.
When orienting the IDE cable for it's connection with the drive, orient it so that the red stripe
end faces towards the power connector (think red goes to power).
After you've plugged the IDE cable in, you'll need to hook a power cable up to it - there should
be a free one in your case. If all of them are currently in use, you may have to run down to your
local electronics store and pick up a Y-adapter in order to get some more power. If you use too
many Y-adapters, you'll strain your power supply - which you don't want to do. If that's the
case, you might end up upgrading your power supply from 230 watt up to a 300 watt variant. You
can easily get away with using two or three Y-adapters though.

RED VS WHITE:
Ginseng produced in the United States is particularly prized in Chinese societies.
• American ginseng promotes Yin (shadow, cold, negative, female);
• East Asian ginseng promotes Yang (sunshine, hot, positive, male).
• White Ginseng is air dried in the sun. It is thought that enzymes in the root break down therapeutic constituents during drying. Sun-drying bleaches the root to a yellowish-white color.
• Red ginseng is is Panax ginseng that has been heated, either through steaming or sun-drying. It is harvested after six years and is steam-cured, giving them a glossy reddish-brown coloring. Steaming is believed to prevent the breakdown of the active ingredients.
SIDE EFFECTS: Panax ginseng's most common side-effect is the inability to sleep. Other side-effects include nausea, diarrhea, euphoria, headaches, epistaxis, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, mastalgia, and vaginal bleeding.

[POSTER SIZE ENLARGEMENTS]
Color negative film has the catch-22 of being more difficult to scan the greater the enlargement size. This is why I'm still a fan of conventional optical enlargements for *big* prints from negs while I'm cautious about the digital scan and print option unless I'm personally doing the final print. Slides on the other hand are where the digital scan and print process shines and is less erratic.

NOTE: Cerium Oxide is shown as WHITE in online pics; don't know if the red is OK. (Red ceriam Oxide is shown also, but not in Glass Repair articles).
http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=133860&highlight=polish+glass
Mix 1 part cerium oxide to 2 parts water while the wheel is soaking in a seperate bowl.
You are now ready. Start buffing with the felt pad in the power drill. With the flat side up against the glass. Spray it with a mist of water as it starts to dry. DO NOT LET THE GLASS GET HOT!!! If it gets hot, it can crack.
The light scratches take about the time it takes to polish stainless in a small area. 2-3 hours. The heavy scratches take forever. With deep scratches, don?t really spend time getting rid of them. That is really impossible. Just try to make it so they look BETTER.
be careful if the cerium oxide is running onto old rubber- hard to clean.
FOR YOU GUYS WITH THE ROUND SCRATCH IN YOUR GLASS FROM THE WIPER. TRY THIS TO GET RID OF THAT SCRATCH. YOU WILL BE MAD AT YOURSELF FOR LEAVING IT THERE ALL THESE YEARS. PUT A PIECE OF THIN MASKING TAPE ON THE INSIDE OF THE GLASS SO THAT YOU WILL KNOW WHERE THE SCRATCH IS WHILE YOU ARE DOING IT.

After spending so much time with no results, I decided to go against the instructions said about using light and steady pressure, and decided to put some muscle into it. I stood on a stool to give me more leverage and went at it again. This time, no additional compound on the glass, just using left over residue from the polishing wheel. I proceeded to buff out the first 1x1 section using a little more muscle and pushing the wheel down. I was kept the polishing wheel very moist with a sprayer on the wheel. Went at it for about 15 minutes again and checked again. Also, I decided to go full bore on the speed and put it in a locked position. I am not sure of the exact rpms at full throttle at this time.
SUCCESS!! The majority of the marks were gone, still some left but I had found the technique that would give me the best results.
• Application process - UGH! lots of muscle needed for this one, no light and steady pressure, more like hard and firm pressure needed to see results.
---
HAMB thread on Glass Scratches
Cerium Oxide is the compound used by professionals, and the buffing wheel is a special VERY firm felt, sold for this use only.
"A tiny surface scratch can sometimes be rubbed or buffed out with very fine powdered pumice or with jeweler's rouge (both are available from glass shops). Make a heavy paste using water and pumice (or jeweler's rouge). Spread the paste on and around the scratch. If machine buffing, use a non-abrasive foam buffing pad on a low-speed orbital buffer. Use very gentle pressure while buffing. You may have to re-apply the paste and rebuff several times to buff out the scratch.
It takes a long time, lots of water at slow speeds. Average wiper marks, 1/2 hour actual polish time per foot. But it can vary greatly. I've had some take 3+ hours... full wiper arcs. You have to be stubborn enough to keep polishing on a scratch that seems like is not coming out.
Rubbing out the scratch manually involves the same water and pumice/rouge technique, only you use a very soft, non-abrasive cotton cloth as your rubbing tool.

I have used 40/.0000 steel wool to polish out some wiper marks and trim rub marks [Try plastic scrunge]. It takes a light touch and some patience. Another old trick is standard Crest or Colgate toothpaste.

[AIR FILTERS, fuel efficient, low resistance]
A K&N air filter is a cotton air filter, which allows a higher airflow to the engine than the paper ones. It is washable, so you don't need to replace it. I added one to my 1996 dodge caravan and I am getting 2 more miles to the gallon.
WARNINGS:
[From messageboard] For the on-road environment, K&Ns are about 85-90% efficient. One thing K&N is bettter at than anyone else is marketing. Their test was done with course dust, which is like sand.
[From K&N] Few air filter manufacturers publish information as to the filtration efficiency of their filters. K&N air filters provide excellent filtration of particles 10 to 20 microns in size.
Take care not to over-oil the element. Besides impeding air flow, excess oil can migrate into the intake system where it can coat electronic sensors.
Some automobile manufacturers say the warranty on their motor vehicles is "void" if an air filter manufactured by K&N, has been installed on their vehicles.
It's just a choice between high airflow with dirt vs. cleaner airflow with restriction. -rj

COMMENTS
Spark travels more easily from a smaller radius, a smaller electrode would provide an easier
means for the spark to cross the gap. This can be achieved by any conductor material but platinum
and iridium last much longer. The thing is, a spark plug will only use the energy required to
cross the gap.
Modern EFI systems aren't like older carbuerated systems. The PCM regulates how much energy the
ignition system requires and monitors this amount. If the OEM plugs can't light off the Air Fuel
mixture, it would mean faulty ignition coil(s).
MULTI-ELECTRODE STYLES: There is a misconception that a multi ground plug will produce mutiple
sparks - this is not true, only the nearest electrode to the centre will spark; as that becomes
worn, another electrode will become the sparking electrode. Do multi ground electrode plugs
outperform single ground plugs? In most cases, no. The additional electrodes disturb the flow of
gases around the spark plug tip and performance may even be reduced.
Do not use Single Platinum in a DIS (Distributorless Ignision System)
Iridium is 6 times harder and 8 times stronger than platinum, it has a 1,200°F higher melting
point than platinum and conducts electricity better.
• Advantages of Iridium spark plugs: the spark plugs centre electrode can have a much
smaller diameter than with platinum, or copper/nickel types. The spark is more concentrated at
the tiny Iridium tip and hence less 'spark jump' voltage is required - this can be as much as
5,000 volts less than with standard plug types. Ignition is improved, improved
ignition/combustion, better fuel economy, increased power/acceleration and especially better
throttle response. [Ad copy from: http://www.pashnit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1899]
i've heard horror stories about the iridium electrode breaking off in FI apps. maybe this is only
with denso plugs tho.
i've only heard of denso having the tips break (maybe cause they're smaller than ngk.
Each manufacturer has their own spark plug. Their engines were design and tested to run on a
specific plug. Honda uses NGK, ford-autolite, Chrysler-champion, GM-AC Delco, etc.

Get dirt out from around the plugs BEFORE you remove them. Otherwise dirt falls into the
cylinders and causes rapid ring wear.
I use fish hook extractor pliers to grab my plugs in and out of a deep hole.
We avoid platinum and iridium plugs because people tell us their cars do not run as well.
get improved MPG with the addition of methyl bearing additives such as acetone and xylene. 2 oz.
of acetone per 10 gallons of gas.
•Use larger than standard tires!
Better traction and less noise. Slightly larger tires reduce the number of times the pistons
reach top center where nearly all the friction occurs in the engine. With lower RPM, the engine
can be more efficient for that reason. Better efficiency gives you better mileage. High MPG is
all about efficiency, especially with proper tire pressures. Check your pressure today.

For 3.8 Grand Caravan:
MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor wire is available on the smaller 2.4 liter engine, but not for the 3.3
or 3.8.
Is this a technical issue regarding the Distributorless Ignition System? Would it be OK to run a
custom-sized set of these wires in the DIS 3.8?
Thanks. Ray Jefferson

REPLY:
"There wouldn't be no issue running a universal wire set PN 31179 that
has been custom tailored to the appropriate lengths."

MAGNECOR makes them for 3.8, but they have higher resistance & don't promise better
performance. MANY COMPLAINTS. Probably worse than mainstream (One msg.: $20 Autolites had better
performance/power). BE SURE TO GET "KV85", their "performance" wire: "KV85 Competition (8.5mm)
Ignition Cables feature Magnecor's exclusive 2.5mm high capacity Metallic Inductance EMI
Suppressed conductor consisting of stainless steel wire precisely wound at 200 turns per inch
over a ferrimagnetic core."
AVOID the "Electrosports" wire: "for use as factory replacement wires"
* * * TRICK ALERT!!! - MAGNECOR's "KV85" wires are SPIRAL - BUT Electrosports is
just a stock replacement. BEWARE! * * *

GENERAL COMMENTS:
• Don't waste your money on MAGNECOR wires. They are a joke of a performance wire...they
actually have a lot more resistance than stock wires
Cache of http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/lofiversion/index.php/t72585.html
• If you want a fancy plug, avoid Bosch; go with Iridiums or Autolite Double Platinums and a
set of Kingsborne wires
• Buy the Taylor Spiro Pro wires & forget about them. They will last forever unless you burn
them or cut them.
• Taylors, 409's and Thundervolts had the wire/boot assembly fall apart during spark plug
changes. People with Taylor thundervolts had them break.
• Moroso makes the best wires except for "Blue Max."
• Most engine builders I know recommend Accel, Taylor, MSD, or Moroso.
• dont get nology wires... from what i have heard, they are too powerful and fry the
igniter source as they have some type of capacitor thing in them.
• if your car didnt come with platinum plugs... save your money because its not built for
them. Platinum doesn't perform better; they claim to last longer, but some people get worse gas
mileage.
• NGK blue silicone wires are spiral wound.
-----------
There is no direct relationship between spark temperature and spark voltage. If you create a
hotter spark, you are only increasing the chances of pre-ignition, engine knock, and damage to
the pistons or crank.
-------------------
GENERAL INFO
The three most common wire types are:
- resistor core - carbon impregnated "standard" type
- metal core - solid copper or stainless steel element
- spiral core - low resistance like Metal Core, with RFI supression "shilding"
Metal core wires consist of stranded copper or stainless steel conductors.
Resistor core is constructed with a filament impregnated with carbon or graphite particles.
Spiral core has a very fine wire wrapped spirally around the core.
• Metal core wires are still found on some imports (when used with a resistor spark plug cap
to block interference), due to their ability to withstand vibration. They are also used in some
race applications.
• Resistor Core supresses radio noise, but also reduces the energy delivered to the plug.
• Spiral core wires also reduces radio frequency interference, but by means of inductive
reactance: As current flows, the spiral windings appear inductive, which means it opposes a
change in current, slowing subsequent oscillations. Because this opposition to the current is in
the form of "phony ohms", it does not waste as much electricity as resistor core wire.

SOLUTION #2: You can afix your transponder key under the ignition-key area, and then use "regular" keys to start the vehicle.
I have one original transponder key. I don't want to pay $150 for another key. So I permanently stick the transponder key near the ignition and buy a couple of spare $3.00 keys. As long as the transponder key is close enough, these "regular" keys will work.
And I've already bought spare remote fobs from eBay and they work fine, so I don't need the keys to lock/unlock the doors.
Some may have concerns about leaving the key in the vehicle, but my thought is that if someone breaks into your vehicle, they're going to steal your radio/wallet, and if they were going to jack your car, they'd know how to do it anyway.

[CRANBERRY, GLUCOSAMINE etc AMOUNTS (mg)]
Moondragon's Urinary
Tract Infection page
Saw Palmetto: 160 mg. (GNC bottle; Their's: $16.99);
Cranberry Tablets: Usual dose: 500 - 1000 mg.
Glucosamine: 1000 - 1500 mg
Cranberry Tablets:
• Benefits cited for cranberry juice is that it ACIDIFIES THE URINE & and thus INHIBITS
BACTERIAL GROWTH. So: what about ANYTHING that acidifies the urine (i.e., cider vinegar?
• The point of cranberries is the acidic level, it rises in your bladder and causes a bad
environment for germs to grow.
• try APPLE CIDER VENEGAR. Daily ACV will help to regulate your pH and create an
environment unsuitable for UTIs.
• APPLE CIDER VENEGAR is also effective for urinary tract infections. Cranberry juice is
also a well-known remedy for urinary tract infections. It prevents bacteria from attaching to the
walls of the urinary tract.
SUMMARY: Generally Apple Cider Vinegar is apocraphylly cited as helping UTIs due to its acidity;
Cannot find any hard evidence; Cranberry Juice is cited as
preventing bacteria from attaching to the walls of the urinary tract. AGAIN, no specifics.

[Cipro, prostatitus, etc.]
http://www.prostatitis.org/ciproeffects.html
All quinolones (CIPRO) cause EROSION OF CARTILAGE in weight-bearing joints.
•Glucosimine Sulphate with Chronditin build up cartilage. people prefer using glucosamine
SULFATE over other forms of glucosamine, because sulfur helps with the strength of collagen in
the joints. Chondroitin binds with collagen in the cartilage, making it strong, slippery and
flexible. It inhibits production of enzymes that break down and destroy cartilage.
NATURAL SOURCES OF GLUCOSAMINE include lobster, crab and oyster shells. "It is in the bones and
cartilage of animals. N-acetyl-glucosamine is found naturally in shiitake mushrooms. It's also
found in bovine cartilage and shark cartilage." ... "Glucosamine is found naturally in the bodies
of animals, and is a natural precursor of glycosaminoglycans, which are found in the cartilage
and connective tissue of all animals."
They may cause convulsions, increases intracranial pressure, toxic psychosis, CNS stimulation
(i.e.nervousness, lightheadedness, confusion, hallucinations). Should not be used in anyone with
seizure disorders, or cerebral arteriosclerosis. There have been deaths due to anaphylactic
shock, and cardiovascular collapse. Also occurring are tingling, itching, facial swelling, and
difficult breathing.
Achilles and other tendon ruptures requiring surgical repair, resulting in prolonged disability
can occur from quinolone use. Discontinue Cipro, and consult your physician, if you experience
pain, inflammation, or tendon rupture.
While taking Cipro, maintain hydration (8-8oz glasses of water daily min.)and drink Orange or
Cranberry juice, or apple cider vinegar (2 tsp. with 1 tsp.honey in 8 oz water) to maintain
acidity of the urine. Photosensitivity (sunburn) occurs easily. Stay out of the sun.
Peak blood levels are reached 1-2 hours after dosing. It works by interfering with an enzyme
that bacteria need to replicate their DNA. Cipro enters tissue, including the prostate, and can
be isolated from prostatic secretions.
RECOMMENDED DOSE FOR PROSTATITIS: 500mg every 12 hours for 28 days.
