Election 2022: Once More, Reality Shifts Toward Unreality

I feel a little different today.

I've certainly witnessed evil people succeed before. So I can't say I'm shocked.

But there's something particularly odd about the present season.

It's true that it was ushered in by evil individuals, and one might argue they bear the blame. Except...

Except this time the majority of the citizenry accepted it. Not just accepted, but violently fought for policies that will lead to nuclear war, destruction of our currency, illegalization of every cultural custom that heretofore assured peace and order, and leaving our borders down as an invite to every destructive person or entity to turn the land of milk and honey into a haunt for jackals.

There is no single enemy to focus upon, no individual to dislodge from the societal dynamic that would allow our land to be healed. The enemy has scattered his seed throughout the populace. The weed patches present themselves in a checkerboard pattern as we traverse the social forum.

They come in all stripes.

The clear-headed veteran with solid moral values who will grudgingly support a destructive regime to mollify a wife or daughter reacting hysterically to the panicky, propagandistic lies issued regarding women's rights.

The comfortable middle class executive/teacher/manager who subconsciously believes their lifestyle will always remain somewhat equivalent to their present level regardless of which policies are implemented. With abandon they curse the pride and productivity of previous generations of Americans, happily burn off the wealth those people left behind as a result of aggressive business moves and victorious wars, and then spend what we've inherited as a nation on self-loathing, self-destructive policies.

This suicidal nuclear attack had been fomenting in the nation's universities for decades, as intellectual misfits found comfortable nests to infest within these artificially-funded fantasy camps.

The Ivy League cult is an abscess of the American culture. When the uber-wealthy tycoons of the 19th century needed a tax dodge, a torrent of cash flowed into these feeding pens. This continues, augmented by government grants and sanctimonious begging.

Those subjects beneficial to technology, economics and quantifiable good gradually began to keep company with theoretical disciplines which allowed greater latitude on the part of the respective propagandizing professor. As the decades proceeded, the "theoretical" came to carry more prestige than the practical, until we now find ourselves being governed by people convinced that if they can engineer a clever string of debating tactics, they have actually caused the physical manifestation of the pipe dream they are promoting.

And, inasmuch as most of the public was trained along these same lines, they likewise believe this delusional eloquence.

A nation ruled merely by a tyrant has, at least, a hope of being freed, provided the tyrant can be removed.

A nation cursed with a passionately insane population has far less hope.

My prayers go out to those of us who can see reality in this grim season. The spiritual life is the only way I can see as a means of coping with the future. I hope all of us can find our way through this and, possibly, help a few good souls understand the truth. We may, at least, plant seeds for a brighter day ... far, far away.
